Behind The Magic: Transformation Before and After Makeover #7

Jackie wanted to be a strawberry blond. And I kept telling her, no. Her Irish eyes were good for it but there was a sallowness to her skin from her Italian heritage I felt would clash. You know when the color stylist doesn’t understand how to match skin tone with the hair color and it jumps out as a problem? Most people wouldn’t know WHY... In the end her heart was set so I lifted her dark, level 4 roots to a medium copper gold, matching it to her colored ends. And I lightened her dark brows enough to to make them match the root color. I gave her a scissor cut to the collarbone adding low layers and taking off the damaged ends.
We chose not to recut her partially grown out bangs and instead blended face framing to them. I smoothed out her wave somewhat with the blow dryer.

I removed the yellow-based concealer she had on her face and put on a 00 for super pale skin which successfully took care of the sallowness. I put Light Reflecting concealer around her dark-circled eyes and added soft peach eye shadow powder on her moveable lids. I used black mascara and dark, rose lipstick. Pink blush. All of this brought out her astounding blue eyes.

As a Goldwell colorist, I show the client the wide variety of the color palette to chose from, so she feels invested and not that I’m making a unilateral decision.
