Behind The Magic: Transformation Before and After Makeover #6
Piper is the daughter of a regular client of mine at my NH salon. They’d texted me a picture of Piper's purple hair and said she’d like to get rid of the color. As I’m a trained Goldwell colorist and a color correction stylist, I explained what the steps are to remove color and to recolor. She said maybe she’d like to do something on the roots instead and leave the purple below.
When she arrived I could see how fine her hair is, and I proposed we give her a razor cut with some layers and see where we were after that. I could see that her hair wasn’t purple all the way through. My thinking being the layers would take away the superficial layer of color and give her her initial desire without all the processes to color remove.
She has a wide forehead and we decided to cut bangs.
Amazingly, the color we ended up with after the cut is a medium hue with a tinge of dark mahogany. It brought out the gorgeous creaminess of her skin. I added mascara and nothing else to the eyes, and I gave her a tiny bit of blush and lip color. With her slanted eyes she looks like an exotic beauty. I didn’t give her private style advice other than how to manage her bangs every morning as I know with the amount of wave she has in it, the cute cut will be different and good every day.
This whole transformation took less than an hour.
