Behind The Magic: Before and After #1, A Lawyer Transformed
This is one of two sisters who came in together for makeovers: haircut and color, makeup and clothes consultations.
First of all my client here is clearly intelligent. I could see it in her humor and smile and willingness to try anything. It was her first experience with me and the second for her sister who brought her. (I see quick check ins when people do the group styling party I offer because it relaxes them to know they have an advocate who’s looking objectively at what I’m saying.)
So my goal was to bring out her beauty and show her intelligence.
I first addressed the hair color. She has underlying warmth in her coloring that allowed me to add a little auburn without it resulting in unflattering brassiness.
For her cut, I gave it a little more support by using the razor. I added a smidge of bangs to soften her forehead.
I waxed her eyebrows into a nice arched shape without making them thin, and I added color to give her face definition and take away any look of fadedness to her coloring.
Next I smoothed out her skin with a translucent foundation though the center of her face. I added concealer and defined her eyes, gave her a little cheek color and easy lipstick. I also taught her how to use bronzer correctly which deepens the natural highs and lows of bone structure.
I put a scarf of autumn colors near her face and changed the eyewear to “less old lady”. We had fun, and it shows.
